Docker, Nginx, CI/CD and AWS deployments
Cloud & DevOps
Getting an application from a repository to a running, monitored production service: containerised deployments, reverse proxies and CI/CD pipelines.
What this covers
A feature is not done when it works on a laptop. I containerise services with Docker, put Nginx in front of them as a reverse proxy, and wire up CI/CD — GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, depending on the project — so a merge turns into a deployment without a manual step in between.
On AWS that has meant EC2 for compute, S3 for assets and generated files, and the background-job pieces — SQS, Lambda, SES — that keep slow or retry-prone work off the request path, all observed through CloudWatch. The goal is the same one behind the backend work: problems should surface through logs and health checks before a user reports them, not after.
